Tea with Austen and a Castle in the Cottswalds

Leaving Bath! Our B&b was beautiful and we had an amazing English breakfast of egg, beans, tomato, ham, mushrooms, sausage and toast.

Had coffee and some Jesus time at a coffee house in Bath.

Went for a walk and found some swings!

The most amazing part of the day was having high tea at the Pump Room in Bath! We had their own Pump room tea along with sandwiches and crostini, scones with clotted cream, and 4 little types of dessert. So much fun to be sitting and eating in a room that has been represented in Jane Austin Books!!!

After Bath we headed to the Cottwalds area. We stayed with a friend in Cheltenham and took a day to go out into one of the smaller villages. That morning started with coffee and study time at Cafe le Rouge and then we headed on a bus to Winchcombe. While there we visited Sudeley Castle and walked and shopped around the village.

The castle was amazing because it had castle ruins from the time of King Henry the 8th as well as part of the castle that was still lived in. Queen Katherine Karr, the 6th wife of Henry the 8th actually resided in this castle after his death.

The grounds were beautiful and overlooked the countryside.

Winchcombe was a beautiful city and we got to do some antique shopping while we were there. It was funny being on a bus and being the only ones under the age of 60. :)

While in Winchcombe we had lunch and tea at a cute little tea house.

That evening we had dinner and dessert at the sunrise hill restaurant with Jaimie. Then he took us to experience real London in a local pub near his house. It was a great time!

  1. I love how super excited you were (3 exclamation points, not 1) about the Jane Austen tea room. I love Tudor dynasty history, so cool you got to go. And the views are breathtaking! I hope you had a chance to boast your America t-shirt for 4th of July:)
