Finn McCool's Causeway

Well we left Skye and thought it would be a long days travel to get to northern Ireland. We were wrong... it was a long two days. :) We ended up missing the last bus that would catch the ferry so we had an impromptu stay in Glasgow. It ended up being a lot of fun and we got to explore a little bit of the city.

The next day we were able to make it to the ferry and finally get to Northern Ireland.

The ferry was so much fun and we were able to get some free reading in.

By the time our bus got to Bushmills it was evening and our bus driver was kind and helped us look for our B&B. She dropped us off on the road and we only had a quarter mile to walk to our B&B.

When we got there, Mabel was so kind and offered to send one of her sons to take us to the Giant's Causeway. Her son Mark drove us and along the way showed us all the different farms where his relatives lived. It was neat seeing that they all lived near each other and in such a beautiful place.

The Giant's Causeway was one of the neatest things I've ever seen. The rock formations are unbelievable and the location is breathtaking. We spent a couple hours just walking around and exploring.

There are many legends that surround the Giant's Causeway and they all have to do with the giant, Finn McCool. This picture is of the Giant's Boot, and is said to have fallen off as he ran for home after seeing the size of the Scottish giant.

We relaxed on the boot as we watched the sun go down. :)

This is the Giant's gateway.

After we explored for a couple hours we found a pay phone and called a taxi... Sam was to become our good friend over the next day. :)

He took us to town where we were just in time to get some Fish and Chip take away.

We sat on a bench and ate while just watching people go by. Apparently Cruising the streets is still a popular thing for young people in Bushmills.

The view from our B&B window was amazing. We only stayed here one night because of our layover in Glasgow, but Mabel was so kind and the country was beautiful. I hope to go back again sometime!!
